Your Eyes Deceive You Not ♥

Sometimes you’re 23 and standing in the kitchen of your house making breakfast and brewing coffee and listening to music that for some reason is really getting to your heart. You’re just standing there thinking about going to work and picking up your dry cleaning.
And also more exciting things like books you’re reading and trips you plan on taking and relationships that are springing into existence. Or fading from your memory, which is far less exciting. And suddenly you just don’t feel at home in your skin or in your house and you just want home but “Mom’s” probably wouldn’t feel like home anymore either.
There used to be the comfort of a number in your phone and ears that listened everyday and arms that were never for anyone else. But just to calm you down when you started feeling trapped in a five-minute period where nostalgia is too much and thoughts of this person you are feel foreign. When you realize that you’ll never be this young again but this is the first time you’ve ever been this old. When you can’t remember how you got from sixteen to here and all the same feel like sixteen is just as much of a stranger to you now.
The song is over. The coffee’s done. You’re going to breath in and out.
You’re going to be fine in about five minutes.

Lovelies! I cannot believe it has been almost a year since I last went on my blog. I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the start of the new year so far ♥

My life has just been an absolute roller coaster ride. Sometimes I'm in absolute awe at the top screaming my lungs out in amazement and happiness, other times I'm tearing up with fright from the tips and turns, holding my breath afraid of what will happen next once I reach the bottom of this free fall. Yet at the end of the day everything will be okay.

But I am back and ready to blog'n roll.

The New Year brought me a new career along with rekindled love, friendship and of course new year's resolutions. This year I plan to:

♥ Save money - which doesn't necessarily mean to spend less, but to definitely spend smarter and control
         my shopping habits better
♥ Eat healthier - no more late night snacking
♥ Take sewing classes at Spool of Thread
♥ Walk home from work at least 3 days every week
♥ Read - I have had so little time for myself to indulge in books lately but I will push myself to make time

Speaking of shopping, my wardrobe has become a lot smaller since I started blogging. I've been evaluating, donating, and investing in basic, beautiful, and (most importantly) wearable pieces. There have also been a number of gorgeous additions that I can't wait to review and share with you along with some new skincare and makeup items that I have been loving.
Stay tuned ♥

À Paris ♥

Sprinting to catch the Main Street bus to get to work last week, I was stopped dead in my tracks when my eyes caught sight of these adorable lockets in the window display of sweet local boutique Much And Little. Not only did I miss my bus but missing my bus led me into the heart-warming shoppe and gazing for a long time at these adorable and colorful little enamel lockets made in the city of lights.

These little lockets are from a sweet brand named Trois Petits Points. Launched in 2007, Trois Petits Points is designed and created by Emilie Despeaux in her workshop in Paris. Each piece is made of materials chosen with care from gold-colored brass or silver plate and is often enamelled with elegent pops of color. Her collection, of course, does not stop at just enamelled lockets and includes many other elegant pieces of jewelry from earrings to bracelets.

The sweet story behind the name of Emilie's collection is described by herself as:

"Trois Petits Points means in English « three little dots » or « three little stitches ». It's a reference to embroidery design that was my specialty when I studied textile design and more poetically to « ... » at the end of a phrase, a kind of promise that something will follow..."

Delta Necklace from the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

I love the simplicity of each piece and her additions of color, keeping the "classic" in a locket yet making it modern and fresh. Prices vary from piece to piece, but expect to pay anywhere around $100 or more for her precious handmade jewelry. Her jewelry can be purchased from Much and Little or Beklina's online.

I've already started a jewelry fund jar and just cannot wait to wear one of these lovely dainties around my neck ♥

Heidi Merrick Trunk Show @ Oliver and Lilly's ♥

I just got back from Heidi Merrick's trunk show at Oliver and Lilly's. It was amazing! Her collection (both current spring/summer and fall) was absolutely breathtaking. The pops of color, flowy silks, and chic minimalistic designs had me weak in the knees. My favorite pieces would have to be the Abigail dress, Fig Tree dress (talk about romantic and sweet), and the oh so gorgeous silk Hans Blazer in sky blue.

Did I mention the shoppe looked absolutely adorable? The ladies were all gorgeous in Heidi Merrick and the additions of fresh flowers, sweets, and cute cushions made this adorable little shoppe even more adorable!

I am so happy that Heidi Merrick collection is available in Vancouver and ecstatic that it's at one of my favorite local boutiques. The Heidi Merrick collection and cute shop Oliver and Lilly's is a must-see lovelies!

Have a good weekend lovelies ♥
