All About Color

I'm usually pretty neutral when it comes to my wardrobe and accessories (it's usually black on black on black - sometimes a splash of green or pink, but that's asking a lot). However, recently I have been CRAZY about color! Well, I haven't really been wearing a lot of color, but I am considering incorporating quite a few vibrant pieces into my wardrobe for spring and summer. Seeing all these gorgeous bursts or neon and bright colors is so refreshing and beautiful. Here are a few pieces I am drooling over...

One of my favorite pieces from Heidi Merrick's spring collection. I fell in love with it when I first saw it in person at Oliver and Lilly's.

I`ve been very much into oranges lately...

Aqua aura crystals are one of my favorites, turn it into a bullet necklace and oh la la.

Handmade beauty for only $75. This satchel also comes in a bright neon green and pink. She also does cute flats and oxfords for very reasonable prices.

Nothing like a burst of sunshine to put me in a smiley mood.

No its not something I would wear, but it would sure make a beautiful accent to any room in my house (and it would help with geography class...well if I were actually taking geography - I could totally sleep and study at the same time)

Have any of you lovelies been into color lately? What colorful pieces would you incorporate into your wardrobe?

Handmade ♥

I've been on a handmaking frenzy lately...

Finally finished my little toque ♥
It's the coziest blend of alpaca, merino, silk, mohair, camel hair and cashmere.

I did a little bit of fixing up with my jewelry designs and switched all the chains from gold plated to gold filled as well as add on a little tag with L stamped onto it.
This is my favorite design from my entire collection. I've been trying to get my hands on more of that beautiful large Agate stone, which has definitely been a challenge.

I wish I had more time to work on knitting and jewelry making. The feeling of completing a beautiful project is incredible and you truly treasure that piece so much more.

Etsy Picks Of The Month

The Rorschach Silk Scarf $128
One of my absolute favorites from Scout and Catalogue's Spring and Summer collection. I love the more ombre purple tone of this scarf and the wild skull, butterfly and fern prints splattered all around.

Brazilian Amethyst Agate with Quarts Necklace $78
I just discovered this amazing Etsy shop today while browsing for some druzy post earrings. Her oversized gem-filled cuffs are gorgeous and her necklaces are beautiful - stunningly in your face. This necklace one is one of my favorites (I'll be purchasing it shortly).

Silver Post Earrings With Sparkles $47
I love how these are so simple for every day wear with a pinch of sparkle.

Glorianne Overnight Travel Bag $475
This bag is beautifully unique and different and impeccable made as all Leonie Saliba leather goods are. Her latest collection for 2012 is called "Dreaming Of You, London" something I've been drooling over...

Cappucino Asymmetric Muse Top $85
Comfortable and chic is what the entire Muse clothing line stands behind. Each piece symbolizes effortless sexy and oh so comfy.

Ctrl, Alt, Del Pillow Set $55
As seen on Two And A Half Men, these pillows make such a fun (and sweetly nerdy) addition to any room.

I love Etsy

Don't forget to enter my giveaway which ends on March 21 (it's from Etsy)! Winner receives a gorgeous piece of clothing from California based independent designer Jacqueline's line Lamixx!

Scout And Catalogue Spring Collection 2012 ♥

I am so excited for Scout & Catalogue's spring collection to come out this week. I've been in love with their oversized, dreamy confections since they opened their Etsy shop in 2009. S&C's fall collection was a gorgeous selection of cozy tie dye cotton (crinkle) gauze scarves that seemed to evoke images of sun drenched beaches and relaxation. I can't wait to see what spring has in store.

Scout & Catalogue Designer and Producer Breanna.

Despite being from Toronto, Scout & Catalogue is heavily influenced by the bohemian beach culture of Mexico, Scout & Catalogue strive to make pieces that are reminiscent of afternoons at secret beaches, sun kissed skin, and all day siestas. Their Lasso Scarf comes with a lasso to easily create that laid back and effortless oversized scarf look. Other scarves have a small leather patch with a Mexican milagro sewn onto it. Milagros (literally miracles) are used in Mexico in prayer and as good luck charms.

Scarves range from $98 to $118 (and above) - though not the most budget friendly, each piece of tie dye artwork is worth every single penny. Every time I look at my Lasso Scarf, all I can think of are sandy beaches, marmalade sunsets and slightly sun burned kissed shoulders.

The Spring Collection will be available on the Scout & Catalogue website Thursday, February 23 at noon EST and launched on the Etsy shop on Friday, February 24.

Opelle Creative Botanist Handbag

Look what came in the mail today...

Just in time Mr. Postman, to relight the smile that was fading on my face because of these darn sniffles.
No more drooling over the beautifully crafted bags on Amy's Etsy shop or constantly looking through her online collection lookbook because one is sitting my desk right now. Thank you Amy

I love an impeccably crafted handmade leather bag.
Can't wait to start toting this beauty around

Etsy Picks Of The Month ♥

Nothing says Valentine's like an ultra cute pair of knickers.

This ring is so adorable and makes a perfect gift. Also available in sterling silver.

I think this is a unique and lovely idea for a guest book. It really creates an elegant and memorable work of art that you can enjoy years down the road.

These amazing lamps were originally inspired by vegetable steamers! A collaboration between an architect, a lighting designer and a ceramic artist, Light Texture creates truly beautiful and unique light structures. I'm slowly saving my pennies

I love putting these beautiful garlands into frames. It's a unique and affordable way to add some art to any room.

Super cute way to finish off your packaging - best of all you can make your own!

Aren't these simply adorable? My cousin is getting married this summer and I will definitely be adding these to my gift for her.

Nature Preserve Jewelry ♥

Pieces of nature covered in 24 karat gold and sterling silver: how beautiful are these pieces of jewelry from Nature Preserve?

I've never come acress jewelry quite like this before (oh Etsy I love you for leading me to endless discoveries). The uniqueness and delicate beauty of these necklaces absolutely mesmerizes me. I love how they are so chic and fancy, yet still manage to create a totally down to earth look. With a lot of jewelry today chunkier and heavier than ever (not that it's a bad thing - I do love bold and in your face statement pieces), don't these look delightfully light and delicate?

I especially love the Cypress Pine Cones necklace. I wear a lot of black (simplicity - that's me), adding this necklace to my wardrobe would be such an elegant pop of gold. I wish I had a happier wallet - I would definitely purchase one. Just looking at the pictures makes my mind whirl with outfit ideas.

My favorite piece

Some tidbits about Gur Kimel's Nature Preserve collection:

"Gur Kimel is a student for B.Design in industrial design at H.I.T Israel. Gur designs jewellery from natural shapes, materials and textures. In his hands, acorns, pinecones and nuts become magnificent jewels while maintaining their natural beauty. Exploring and collecting exceptional pieces in the Jerusalem hills, urban Tel-Aviv, European forests and Scandinavian villages, Gur finds that nature tells a different story in each location, and this story changes again from season to season."

For now, I'll stick to making my hex bracelets (it's wallet friendly and chic too).
I'll be setting up a mini jewelry fund jar...until next time beautiful golden pinecones!
